All leading to HOPE

We can have peace in our lifetime if we all do our part.

This must be a partnership of every individual, non-profit organization, corporation, and government. All working together to bring the basic needs to all of humanity.

Thomas Jefferson wrote the words: "We hold these truths to be self evident that all men are created equal and are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights that among them are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness"

If we have the right to life then we have the right to three square meals a day, a roof over our head, access to quality health care, personal security, an education and a job. For how could we ever begin to experience liberty or pursue happiness without the basic needs being met.

"Our work will not be done until every man, woman, and child alive has three square meals a day, a roof over their head, access to quality health care, personal security, an education and a job." - Michael Douglas Carlin

One recent project included the following:

On March 31st a 40 foot container was filled with approximately $600,000 of single use medical supplies and equipment loaded by volunteers is en route to a warehouse in the Philippines that is run by Sir Edward A. Artis, whose life and work is chronicled in the documentary film “Beyond the Call”. On the container were two Eco Cardiogram units, valued at $500,000 that will transform two clinics from basic care facilities to full cardiac care centers, as the machines will aid in the proper diagnosis of heart related illnesses.

Point on the project from the United States side was Michael Carlin with his organization, Steps For Recovery along with the Rotary of Century City and Hillarie Waadt’s “A Prescription For Peace”, raising a substantial amount of the shipping costs associated with sending this relief to the Philippines. This equipment and the associated supplies when delivered will save countless lives. Steps For Recovery is a California 501(c)3 and publishes the Century City News as well as the 15 year old publication, “Steps For Recovery”  that focuses on recovery from addictions which is distributed to hundreds of locations.

Dr. Jim Laws a fellow knight, who is also featured in the film “Beyond The Call” wrangled the Echo Cardiogram machines in Ohio. Jim and Sir Michael Alber had the machines crated and paid for the shipping to Los Angeles.

Los Angeles based Storage Solutions also participated by allowing delivery and storing many of the medical supplies until they were ready for shipping.

Rotary of Century City received donations from two members, Barry Marlin and Sharahm Hazany – which contributed to the shipping.

Once everything was staged the container was ordered and the loading date set. The all volunteer group arrived to load the container. Brett Ladner, Helane Freeman, Hillarie Waadt, Bob Jaskowiak, and Ivan Rivera

To date over 42 million dollars worth of aid has been delivered by Sir Edward and the Knights to countries all over the world such as Russia, Rwanda, Zaire, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Cambodia, Albania, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Thai-Burma, the Philippines, Myanmar, and Sri Lanka.

This is not accomplished by large corporations or wealthy moguls, it is hundreds of people all working together that makes these projects possible. And although it is the Knights who deliver these life saving supplies to some of the worlds most dangerous places it is donations from ordinary people that help us accomplish extraordinary things.

Please make a donation so we can continue to bring food, medical supplies and shelter to those most in need.
